2009 - And Counting

We have settled on a title. (drum roll please...)

Before Tonight: A Musical Nativity

I hope that settles it.
But, more importantly, it is our goal to produce a few performances this year of this work. We have re-assessed and re-arranged some music. I think we are getting closer to a finished work. We are hoping to do a performance in Los Angeles and at least one in Utah.

If you, or someone you know, has the capacity to perform this material, please contact me.
I would love organized choirs, community organizations, churches, anyone interested to let me know. It is still without an orchestra, but not for long!

Where We Are

I have to thank all of those who were involved with the workshop performance in Mesa, AZ on the 16th of December. Thank you all for the time you committed and the roles you played getting this thing up and running. The workshop was invaluable for me to understand what needs to be accomplished before we move forward again.

There will be lots of news coming in the next few months. Most importantly, I want to do a studio recording with a full orchestra. This will require money that I don't have. I am putting together a business plan for potential investors that will be available soon. Music like this rarely makes a large return on the original investment, so I am looking for people who believe in the project and want to see it shared. If you or anyone you know would have an interest in helping to get this recording done, please contact me directly at robmoffat@gmail.com.

Arizona Premiere - December 16th

"The Nativity" an oratorio by Rob Moffat and Diego Hellewell will be performed at the Kimball Stake Center on December 16th at 7:30pm. This will be the Arizona premiere of this new work. It is a contemporary re-telling of the first Christmas story will all new music. Non-denominational in its intent, the program follows narration from Luke 2.
